Healthy Strawberry-Cherry Smoothie



This strawberry cherry smoothie is delicious, super healthy and super easy to make at home! I tried this recipe during the winter months with frozen cherries, stored from the previous cherry season and it tasted heavenly! 

This cherry smoothie can be made at any time of the year and you can also use fresh or frozen cherries. If you have a lot of fresh cherries, try freezing them for winter smoothies. I hope you all enjoy this Strawberry Cherry Smoothie Recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 orange, peeled and separated into wedges
  • 1 banana, peeled and quartered
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1½ cups fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled
  • 1½ cups fresh or frozen sweet red cherries, pitted
  • Drizzle of honey or agave nectar, to taste, if desired

Instructions:

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in an electric blender. Add ingredients in the order they are listed. As a rule of thumb, you want to add the liquid first and the frozen last and everything else goes in between. Blend until smooth.
  2. If you like your smoothies a little sweeter, you can drizzle in your favorite sweetener such as honey or agave nectar to taste, then pulse in a blender until well incorporated. Enjoy!
